Training programme on numerical modelling for ports & Harbours
Indomer Coastal Hydraulics (p) Ltd. was established under CSIR-NIO Technology promotion scheme. The different discipline in Indomer are headed by retired scientists of CSIR-NIO. The vision of Indomer is to ‘Import Ocean Science to the User Community in an efficient manner’. Indomer is the NABET-QCI accredited organization for Sector 27- Pipelines and sector 33- Ports & Harbours.
Among various infrastructure developments, Ports & Harbours play a key role the economic growth of our country. Modernization/Globalization are the magic words doing the round and we have to keep abreast of the revolutionary changes. This has become an inescapable necessity for the development of major and non-major ports and fishing harbours as well.
During the process of EC and CRZ clearances, the ToR invariably suggests to undertake a robust mathematical modelling study using the internationally accepted models.
MoEFCC is keen in evaluating the impact due to shoreline erosion, beach nourishment, dredging and disposal, changes in seabed, Wave Tranquility, Oil spill and associated Risk assessment and Disaster Managment. Indomer has rich experience in conducting the mathematical modelling study related to Ports & Harbours over the last two decades.
In order to share its knowledge on the ins and outs of the numerical modelling for Ports & Harbour development and the way it has to be presented for MoEFCC, Indomer has proposed a two-day training programme covering the specific requirements of MoEFCC.
The training programme will be organized for 2 days on 9th and 10th April 2018 at Indomer, Chennai. The number of participants is restricted to 20. The course fee will be Rs. 15000/- per participant. Working lunch will be provided. The participants will have to arrange stay at their cost and Indomer can assist them to get hotel accommodation in the range Rs. 2500/-, Rs. 4500-Rs.7500/- per day. On completion, Certificate of Training on Numerical Modelling for Ports & Harbours will be issued.
